LVHRD presents PHTHRD III

On March 31st, LVHRD is hosting its 3rd annual PHTHRD.

For the past two years PHTHRD was a live photography competition where rival shutterbugs faced off on a secret brief revealed simultaneously to the competitors and audience. Last year, we had three teams create pieces of art based on their ideas of storytelling using only polaroids they took at the event. The year before we gave five photographers not 1, not 2, but 3 briefs.

This year, we're mixing it up and asking you to bring your camera (video or still). Instead of photog vs. photog, its all of us against the world. Bring a camera, so we can set the record for the world's most photographed party—we want to see everything from Nikon D3x's to Kodak Fun Saver Disposables—Polaroid PoGo's to Lomo Pop9's—Canon HD Camcorders to Flip Minos. 1 flickr set with 10's of thousands of photos and short videos all from four hours at one location. Universal Record Database will certify the record and we will all go down in history.

You'll be in good company with some of NY's top party photographers and an open bar courtesy of Dewar's. So come out and watch 250 photographers photograph each other while you drink gratis and help set a world record you can someday tell your kids about (or not depending on how you behave).

Nick Catchdubs:
Nick Catchdubs (Brooklyn-based club and mix-tape DJ and co-founder of the Fool’s Gold label) is the man behind Mishka’s 90’s alt-rock mix “Radio Friendly Unit Shifter” which has been getting lots of spins in the LVHRD offices recently. We are really excited to announce that he will be our featured DJ at PHTHRD III, and we thought his Flashing Lights parties would be excellent preparation for all the flashing lights that will undeniably be going off as we try to set the world record for World’s Most Photographed Party.

Nicky Digital:
We’re psyched to present Paper Magazine's Best Nightlife Photographer, Nicky Digital. Capturing the wild and beautiful of NYC nightlife since he first started posting his favorites on a photo-blog a couple of years ago, Nicky Digital’s site immediately took off, garnering tons of followers who love the spontaneous and jubilant style of his snapshots. He will be present at PHTHRD, providing a little of professional level skill to our brawl with the World.
